Central Heating and Hot Water

Herston Rise has a combination boiler so hot water is instantly available, but do take care as it can get very hot!!!

The Central Heating is on a timer, controlled by the thermostat on the kitchen wall just as you go in. By adjusting the temperature, you can regulate the heating to your requirements.

Full instructions are available should they be needed.

Logs and kindling are provided in the colder months, with enough to last you your first fire.

Microwave Operation

The microwave can be found in the wooden cupboard in the dining area.

If you intend to use it for anything length of cooking time, then it must be removed from this area;- the heat generated, would cause it to overload, and could pose a fire risk.

It is very easy to operate - power, start and the length of time.

Rubbish Collection

Our pipework is very old and can get blocked very easily, so we would ask that you ensure that NOTHING, apart from toilet paper, gets flushed away. All facial/baby wipes and any other items, must be put into the bin provided. ,

Bedding Removal at the End of your Stay

There are two bins located around the side of the cottage at the side of the shed, clearly marked as either

regular or recycling.

Please place all general rubbish in Black Bags before putting into the bin.

All recycling materials can be put into the recycling bin, including glass, which will be sorted out by our housekeepers upon changeover on a Friday.

Bedding Removal at the End of your Stay

We would ask you please, to ensure that you remove all duvet and pillow covers and that you place them in the laundry bag that has been left for you, along with towels that have been used so that our housekeeping team can remove and launder them safely.
